Criminal Law

We provide advice and representation to accused persons in criminal proceedings commenced by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP).

We provide advice and representation for the entire lifecycle of the investigation and prosecution, including pre-interview advice, on applying and varying bail, and representation at sentencing, or if necessary, at trial, depending on the client's instructions.

We also provide advice and representation to persons facing prosecutions or civil penalty proceedings commenced in the Magistrate's Court by other Commonwealth agencies (e.g., the Australian Taxation Office prosecutes some summary offences under the Taxation Administration Act 1953 and the Australian Border Force pursues some civil penalty proceedings for certain import offences under the Customs Act 1901).
