

Academia
Brenton was appointed a Sessional Academic at Murdoch University, Curtin University and the University of Notre Dame over a number of years. This experience developed his ability to communicate and translate complex concepts to people of all ages, especially young people.

He has a passion for teaching and learning and takes an active interest in supporting and developing future legal practitioners, acting as a mentor and having volunteered as a Mock Trial Coach with the Law Society's Mock Trial Program for several years.

University of Notre Dame
Brenton was the Course Coordinator in Criminal Law A at the University of Notre Dame where he taught the entire cohort (over 100 students) the various elements needed to demonstrate certain criminal offences (e.g., murder, manslaughter, assaults, stealing etc.).
He was also the Tutor in Criminal Law B, which covered statutory defences to criminal offences in Western Australia (e.g., honest claim of right (property offences), unwilled act, accident, mistake of fact, emergency, duress, insanity etc.).
Murdoch University
Brenton was a Tutor in Criminal Law and Procedure at Murdoch University where he taught over 60 students the elements required to be demonstrated to prove various criminal offences (e.g., murder, manslaughter, assaults, stealing etc.), what statutory defences were available to certain charges and the way a criminal matter progressed through the Court process.


Curtin University
Brenton was a Tutor in Introductory Economics at Curtin University over several years where he taught countless students microeconomic and macroeconomic concepts at an early level (e.g., demand/supply, aggregate demand/supply, monetary policy, fiscal policy, exchange rates).
